Back when I first started with this construction company about 13 years ago, we used to do things a lot differently than we do them now.
Things definitely change over the years, and sometimes it’s for the better.
I really like working for this company, and I get along well with all of the crew. Most of the time I work is not very stressful and I like my job. I do a lot of the ordering and billing for the office. I handle most of the materials that we get in for the construction jobs. When I first started here years ago, we used to use a lot of imports that came in from other countries and I never really liked that. But everything that was imported was much cheaper back then and so there was nothing that I could do to change it. Eventually, some of the legislation changed about construction projects and so now we have to use materials that are certified domestic. I’m glad about that, personally. Now, I order lots of things that are made in the USA. We use a ton of these things called 16 gauge double loop wire ties for our construction projects. I’m actually really glad to be able to order these 16 gauge double loop wire ties from an American company. The company that we order from has a lot of stuff that is certified domestic and they have great service. It’s so much better to order from a company here than having to order from someone and get them shipped in from overseas.
