While Jacksonville, Florida, offers hot & sunny summers, mild winters & ideal Spring & Autumn seasons, the weather can be brutal. The park experiences hurricane-like conditions at multiple times of year. The high winds often knock out power lines & lead to falling trees & limbs. Torrential downpours & rising levels of the St. Johns river causes widespread flooding. I was entirely delighted with the location of my home. My associate and I had an appealing view of the river from the back deck. I invested into a kayak, fishing boat & paddle board & spent a lot of time on the water. I also devoted quite a bit of time, effort & money into renovating the home. I sanded, varnished & totally refinished the hardwood floors, doors & moldings. I put in a brand modern kitchen with updated appliances, cupboards & countertops. The entire interior & exterior of the property was freshly painted & the roof was only three years old. The Heating & A/C system was less than five years old. When the weather forecast predicted a mild hurricane off the coast, I wasn’t all that nervous. Unluckily, the hurricane demolished my home. The downstairs was filled with dirty water. A tree landed on the roof. I ended up with collapsed walls, broken windows & a cracked foundation. The property was a total loss, & the insurance was of no help. I was entirely thankful for the option to sell to a moneyed apartment buyer. This process eliminated the need for patron financing, apartment inspections, appraisals & repairs. I was able to get an offer online. Once I accepted the offer, the closing moved forward quickly.
